Development of the measurement campaign, evaluation and validation of the FSI simulation method

The assignment of the project team (realised from the end of 2008 until the beginning of 2009) was to validate the fluid-structure simulation method with the aid of a test run using a 29 m parasol.
For this purpose, the load rating of the parasol prototype was calculated based on natural scale under transient wind load and compared with measurements of experimentally calculated internal forces and deformations. The test has shown that a reliable forecast of rated values on the basis of computer-aided wind simulation methods is feasible.
