The German National Garden Show 2023 in Mannheim features a pavilion built under the theme "Mission Circular". The unique feature of this pavilion is that it can be completely returned to its original material cycles after use. The pavilion is constructed using over 300 waste containers from the city of Mannheim that are attached to a double-curved supporting structure made from borrowed scaffolding tubes. The foundation consists of a total of 34 screw foundations, which can be unscrewed after the pavilion has been dismantled and reused for other projects without any restrictions. Given the global problem of waste and rubbish, it is essential to develop alternative approaches for temporary constructions that focus on sustainability aspects and a closed material cycle.
