Mesh-free FE Analysis In CAD.

The PlugIn “Kiwi3d” (developed by str.ucture in cooperation with TU Munich) enriches the CAD design environment of Rhino3d and Grasshopper3d with the potentials of isogeometric-based analysis (IGA).

Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) is a newly developed non-standard discretization method for finite element application. It allows to rethink common design strategies and planning processes, which unveil significant potentials regarding the computer-aided working background, as it enables to use one consistent mathematical model description (non-uniform rational B-Splines, NURBS) throughout architectural and engineering design phases, while geometry transformations or remodeling (such as “meshing”) become completely irrelevant.
