The „Timmendorfer Bogen“ creates a new centre of attraction north of the Seeschlösschenbrücke and the Seebrücke Niendorf.
It contains a sun deck, a pier and multiple resting areas inviting people to stay.
A textile roof about 9m in diameter provides shade on hot days and serves as shelter on rainy days. For lower maintenance and cost savings the structure consists of as little mechanical elements as possible.
The sea bridge is planned as a tapered, steel-concrete composite beam over 16 fields. By reducing the section from a height of 75cm at the poles to 50cm in the centre of the field, the dynamic silhouette reveals the structural logic to the viewer. The bridge has a standard span of 16m and an 8m cantilever at the end.
